# Email Settings

> Configure the sender details and footer for your outgoing emails

Email settings control how your emails appear in your subscribers' inboxes — who they're from, where replies go, and what appears in the footer. Go to **Settings → Newsletter → Emails** to configure these.

## Sender details

### Sender name

The name that appears in your subscribers' inbox as the sender. This is typically your newsletter name or your own name.

### Sender email

The email address your messages are sent from. By default this uses a LetterBucket shared sending domain.

<Info>
  To use your own domain as the sender address (e.g., `hello@yournewsletter.com`), you need to set up a [Custom Domain](/custom-domain/set-custom-domain) first.
</Info>

### Reply-to address

When a subscriber hits **Reply** on one of your emails, their reply will go to this address. It can be different from the sender email — useful if you want replies to go to a specific inbox.

<Warning>
  You can only change your reply-to address once every **30 days**. After saving a new reply-to address, you'll need to verify it by clicking the confirmation link sent to that address before it takes effect.
</Warning>

## Footer

Every email includes a footer with your mailing address — this is required by anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR).

### Address options

* **LetterBucket default address** — Use LetterBucket's registered address. This is the default and requires no configuration.
* **Custom address** — Enter your own physical address to appear in the footer. This is recommended if you want full control over what subscribers see.

### Email rating style

Controls the visual style of the ratings/feedback prompt shown at the bottom of your emails. Choose the style that best fits your newsletter's design.

## Best practices

* Use a real reply-to address that you monitor. Subscriber replies are one of the best signals of engagement, and responding to them builds trust.
* Your sender name should be recognizable. Subscribers are more likely to open emails from a name they remember.
* If you use a custom domain, make sure your [DNS records](/custom-domain/set-custom-domain) are properly configured to avoid deliverability issues.

<Tip>
  Check the [Deliverability](/deliverability) guide for more tips on keeping your emails out of the spam folder.
