The AI writing assistant is available on the Growth plan only. Upgrade your plan to unlock it.
The AI assistant is built directly into the editor — no switching tabs or copying text. You can use it to improve selected content, change its tone, translate it, or generate titles and subtitles for your post.

Improving selected text

Select any text in the editor and a formatting toolbar will appear. Click the ✦ Improve button to open the AI actions menu. The AI menu offers the following actions:

Improve

Refines the selected text — better word choice, clearer phrasing, smoother flow — without changing the meaning.

Simplify

Reduces complexity. Good for making technical or dense writing easier to read.

Extend

Expands the selected text with additional detail and supporting content. Useful when a section feels thin.

Shorten

Condenses the text while keeping the key information. Use this when something is too wordy.

Fix Grammar

Corrects grammar, spelling, and sentence structure without changing the voice or content.

Change Tone

Rewrites the selected text in a different tone. Available tones:
ToneBest for
ProfessionalBusiness newsletters, B2B content
FormalOfficial announcements, serious topics
CasualFriendly, conversational newsletters
BusinessCorporate or company updates
InformativeEducational content, how-tos
NarrativeStorytelling, personal essays
FunnyHumor-driven content
WittyClever, light-hearted writing

ChildfriendlySimple language, accessible writing

Translate

Translates the selected text into one of 15 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese.

Custom prompt

Opens a text input where you can type any instruction — for example: “Rewrite this as a bullet list” or “Make this sound more urgent.” Press Enter or click the send button to apply.

How the AI applies changes

After you trigger an action, the editor enters a read-only mode while the AI processes your request. The result streams in and replaces your selected text character by character. Once complete, you can keep the result or press Ctrl + Z (Undo) to go back to the original.

Generating a title and subtitle

The AI can also suggest a title and subtitle for your post based on the content you’ve written. Next to the Title field at the top of the editor, click the (settings) icon. In the dropdown, click Suggest under the Enhance title section. The AI will generate a title and stream it into the field. You’ll then see three options:
  • Yes — accept the suggestion and keep it.
  • No — reject it and go back to what you had before.
  • (regenerate) — discard this suggestion and generate a new one.
The same flow applies to the Subtitle field.
Title and subtitle suggestions work best after you’ve written most of your content. The AI uses your post body to generate relevant, specific titles rather than generic ones.

Using your own AI provider

By default, the AI assistant uses LetterBucket’s built-in AI (included in the Growth plan). If you’d prefer to use your own API key, you can connect OpenAI, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter under Settings → Profile → API Keys.
